To fully understand how the Community works, we've provided some definitions for terms that are commonly used throughout the Community:
Forum Subjects Forum subjects are groupings of forum topics; they are descriptions for broad-based groupings of individual message boards. For example, the forum subject "Assistance, Please!" contains a series of message boards associated with help-related advice and tips for using the VacationPads website.
Forum Topics (Message Boards) Discussion topics are groupings of message threads; they are categories that share a common theme and describe the general content for a particular message board. Topics for discussion are listed on the Community Homepage. An example of a discussion topic would be "Europe"; you can expect to find message threads related to Europe in this message board.
Message Threads Message threads are groupings of individual messages; they are series of messages in a particular message board that are related to common subject within the message board. You can read more about message threads in the next section.
Messages Messages are the foundation of the VacationPads Community! These are individual posts by members and may consist of new posts or replies to existing messages. Messages are grouped via their commonality into message threads.
