Once a message thread has been started, discussions within the thread take place by replying to individual messages. If you want to discuss a new topic not covered within a thread, you must start a new thread (the "thread starter") by clicking the "New Thread" button.
"Thread starters" and message replies are all considered "posts" or messages within the Community. Thread starters simply create a new topic for discussion, while replies build upon existing discussions.
